Pull up on the flexible plastic keyboard to remove it. Inspect this keyboard for any defects or damage. If the keyboard looks obviously damaged, put a new one in its place and reassemble the Curve, as this was almost certainly the issue with your BlackBerry.

If the keyboard looks fine, you will need to continue with the disassembly to check the actual metal keys on the keyboard. Remove the four T6 screws that surround the black keyboard housing. Then use your pry tool to pull up on the housing to remove it. Hold your heat gun six inches above the white membrane that holds the small metal discs that make up the keyboard.
Turn the heat gun on and move it around the perimeter of the membrane for 30 seconds. Turn the heat gun off and use your pry stick to peel up the membrane. Check the membrane for damage, and replace it with a new one if necessary.
Inspect the green control board and circular copper contacts for any signs of liquid damage, which will appear as green or dark-brown spots on the copper. If you see any, dip your brush into your alcohol and lightly scrub the area until the corrosion is gone. If there was any liquid damage the keyboard may still not work after you have cleaned it, but cleaning away the corrosion can sometimes correct the issue. Replace the keyboard membrane and then place the keyboard housing back onto the device.
Be sure that the top two corners of the keyboard housing slide in under the two tabs at the bottom of the LCD's metal shield. Replace the four screws, then push the faceplate back onto the device.
